Exceptionally fine silk and wool needlework throne portrait of King George V and Queen Mary commemorating the Accession of 1910 and Coronation of 1911, worked in gros point and petit point, with the name `M. Scott` worked in the lower right outer border, English, early 20th century, 82in. x 51in. 209cm. x 130cm. Unlined. Worked in two halves joined vertically. By family repute, taken to the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court for verification. Stitches worn away in some places.

Important Historical Portrait by T.H. Wilson Watercolour: Sergey Mikhaylovich Stepnyak - Kravchinsky aka 'Stepmak,' 1851 - 1895. Watercolour approx. 23cms x 33cms (9" x 13") signed in oak frame. * Very good portrait of Stepmak seated and resting on the back of a chair in his study. He was the Russian anarchist who killed the chief of the Russian Secret Police with a dagger in a street in St. Petersburg in 1878. (1)

Album: A Victorian Scrap Album with some original watercolours, drawings, silhouettes, hand coloured illus. cuttings etc., also a rare original photograph of Michael Murphy, an oval portrait (19cms x 13.5cms). The Album appears to have been compiled by Beatrice Sixsmith, 1886, who had Mayo connections, full embossed morocco. As an Album, w.a.f. * Michael Murphy an Irishman living in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, was the hero who helped to quell a fire on board the "St. Louis" from Liverpool on route to New York, helping to save the ship and hundreds of passengers.
