Eric Griffiths - Set of ten abstract watercolours, largely depicting figure scenes in bright colours, each signed and dated circa 1988/89, and two others similar, believed to be by Eric Griffiths' daughter, the largest 51 x 38cm. Background: Until his retirement in 1990 Eric Griffiths was Director of Sculpture at Royal Doulton. He contributed to a number of models in the HN collection, most notable were his Royal Family portrait figures, as well as designs for the Haute Ensemble, Images and Reflections series. Eric's artistic nature was first discovered while recuperating after a life threatening injury in his youth.

Matched pair of late 19th Century Coalport ovoid shaped two handled vases, one having an oval painted portrait panel on a heavily gilded maroon ground, its base with script 'Portrait of a Lady After J. Russell R.A.', 33cm high, the other having a similar reserve panel depicting a classical lady in profile entitled 'Amphitrite' on a heavily gilded cobalt blue ground, both standing on a reticulated gilt highlighted off-white circular foot, 32.5cm high
Early 18th Century Russian engraved glass goblet from the Yamburg Glassworks. The funnel shaped bowl engraved on three sides with a portrait medallion of the Empress Anna Ivanovna, the crowned double-headed Imperial Eagle and the full length portrait of a bishop wearing a halo. The faceted knopped stem having a replacement lead foot, 29cm high
A Louis XVI enamelled gold snuff box by Jean-Baptiste Marie (fl. 1769-1788), marked, Paris, 1778/1779, with charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache, later struck with two post 1864 French import marks, oval, the base and side panels enamelled in translucent caramel-colour on an engine turned ground, the cover with oval portrait plaque painted en grisaille with Joseph II (1741-1790), Holy Roman Emperor, flanked by a nude child with laurel crown and the Habsburg eagle with globe, sceptre and sword, the gold border enamelled with green leaves and chased with flowers surmounted by a bow cresting, the side pilasters hung with green enamelled swags, the frosted gold borders with twisted green and opaque ribbons enclosing pellets, 8cm (3.25") wide Provenance: Christie's London, 22 May 2001, Lot 152 (see illustration)
A Belleek miniature chamber pot, 1877, the white glazed body with simple loop handle and a band of stylised acanthus leaf moulding, enclosing a black printed portrait of William Gladstone to the interior, bearing registration lozenge for 5th February 1877 and black printed first version of the Belleek mark, 9.5cm high

The stretcher having a paper label inscribed; "George Moore (of age of 16) afterwards Brigadier General & Colonel in India, Born 12th April 1789 Died at Sea and insight of land on his return home after much service in India during 43 years, 7th son of Edward & Sarah Moore of Stockwell House, Surrey" (Restored 1889) 30 ins x 25 ins (76 cms x 64 cms). The cavetto moulded gilt frame decorated with scrolls of foliage and having shell motifs to the corners, 37 ins x 32 ins (94 cms x 81 cms).
