Note: The portrait of legendary Celtic striker Henrik Larsson with his signature celebration pose after scoring a goal. Henrik Larsson was one of the most successful Celtic strikers of all time. He played for Celtic between 1997 and 2004 and scored 242 goals in 315 matches, including 15 against Old Firm rivals Rangers. He played in the team which reached the 2003 UEFA Cup Final against FC Porto and earned the nickname “The King of Kings” amongst Celtic supporters. This painting was offered by Sotheby’s in 2017 with an estimate of £10,000 - 15,000.

ITALIAN IVORY PORTRAIT MEDALLION OF POPE CLEMENT XI (1649-1721), 18th Century, carved in low relief facing to sinister, the orphreys of his cope lavishly embroidered, soft skull cap over curly hair, 8.4cms high, in carved giltwood oval frame Provenance: Sotheby's 5 May 1972. Auctioneer's Note: Cf. Victoria & Albert Museum collection (A.57-1923) for a related oval ivory portrait medallion of Clement XI (Giovanni Francesco Albani, 1649-1721; Pope: 1700-21) thought to have been made in Rome during his papacy c. 1707-21. This design, with the triple tiered tiara, is derived from a medallic portrait by Charles Claude Dubut of 1707. Comments: one edge broken away.

Jean Shepeard (British, 1904-1989): A collection of pencil sketches of Ronald Ossory Dunlop (Irish, 1894-1973), a charcoal portrait, signed with a monogram 'JS', 26.5 by 18cm, mounted, 40 by 30cm together with fifteen other mounted and unmounted portrait sketches, all signed, two small photographs of Dunlop (one partially torn, a/f), a copy of his autobiography 'Struggling with Paint' (London, 1956) with handwritten dedication to Jean Shepeard 'To Jean darling R O Dunlop', the book references Shepeard and the Emotionist movement which Dunlop, Shepeard and others founded, Shepeard and Dunlop were also lovers, together with a 1931 Redfern Gallery exhibition programme for Dunlop's work. Jean Shepeard (British, 1904-1989): A sketchbook containing a possible charcoal portrait of the artist Francis Bacon (1909-1992), 22.5 by 17.5cm, together with other portraits, most are signed, also including indistinct handwritten notes, a/f.Jean Shepeard was the only woman to ever exhibit with Bacon, the 1929 exhibition, was Bacon's second and it also included works by the Australian artist Roy de Meistre. Although Bacon's name is the most prominent on the exhibition flyer, Shepeard contributed to 'well over half the listed items in the show' (Richard Shone, 'The Burlington Magazine' Vol. 138, No. 1117, Apr. 1996, pp. 253-255).
