Militaria/Portrait Miniatures: a late 18th/early 19th century unsigned portrait miniature on ivory of `General Hare, Godfather of Dr B Wake of York` (as inscribed to the edge of the frame), he wearing grey coat and white cravat, verso with navy blue enamelled border, and oval lock of plaited hair, in oval gold metal unmarked frame with pendant and brooch fittings, in original red leather case lined with velvet.
Militaira/Portrait Miniatures: an early 19th century unsigned portrait miniature on ivory of `Charles Wake 34th Native Infantry 1847` (as inscribed to the edge of the gold metal frame), he shown wearing red British uniform with high navy collar and gold braid epaulettes, wearing ribbon, in oval pendant frame glazed verso, in original brown leather case. *NB Major Charles Hamilton Wake (d.1871) is also the subject of an oil on canvas by Mary Ellen Best.
