Large English creamware admiral Lord Nesleon commemorative jug, in black transfer with touches of colour highlights, with Nelson portrait, and 'Battle off Trefalgar' [sic] panels, named J Rogers below the spout, old restorations, 26cm.Condition report:Old restoration, no clearly discoloured to the crest of the handle, spout, and various areas to the baseline.Chipped glaze loss and flaking to the exterior, particularly behind where the handle joins the body at the top, rim, two filled patches to the side with map transfer, two areas affecting the portrait transfer, and heavy glaze flaking and loss to the interior.A horizontal hairline across the map transfer which can be seen on the interior as well as exterior.A shallow chip to the underside of the baseline, and another shallow chip elsewhere on the baseline which is underglaze.Fine crazing throughout.
Elkington & Co parcel-gilt metal stand, pierced rim raised on three scrolled supports with leaf caps, joined by fruit laden swags, stamped 'Elkington & Co' to one foot, diameter 12.5cm, height 11cm; three ormolu corner mounts modelled as cherubs, other mounts, and a Victorian silhouette portrait miniature of a lady in ebonised frame.
A collection of medals, badges and awards relating to Nursing Sister Harriet. O. Luckie, including Order of St John medal and miniature and two South African medals (without ribbons) - Victorian and Edward VII, Garrard & CO Royal Red Cross Faith Hope & Charity 1883, presented 29 June 1903 in case, and a silver and enamel Boer War Alexandra's Cross; a bar with three medals, one Victoria South Africa medal with South Africa 1901 bar, Belfast Bar, and Natal bar, presented to '7045 Cpl V. G. Mellin, VOL. Coy. Manch. Regt', an Egyptian Order of the Nile, 4th Class stamped 'Lattes' to reverse, and a George VI Defence medal; and a quantity of medals and awards relating to members of the Barton family including boxing medal, Royal Life Saving Society, two Royal Tournament awards for Epee and Foil, 1st Prize S/Lt. (E) Barton R.N. 1949, and a portrait photograph in a regimental photograph frame 'The Kings', 31.5cm; together with various other coronation medals, badges, and row of WWI miniatures.
William Ramsden Brealey, Portrait of Jean - the artist's daughter, aged 8, 1928oil on canvas, signed, titled verso,50.5cm x 40.5cm.Condition report:The condition is quite poor. There are clear outlines to the stretcher and in two areas along the outlines the canvas has ripped. There is a heavy blister mark lower left corner. Various surface scratches and resulting paint loss. Overall the canvas is very grubby. It is in a rudimentary pine frame but that offers little protection to the canvas.

[c. 1700], etching and engraving, mounted with some losses, 19.5 x 27cm, further engravings after Carracci, Rubens, Bartolozzi, Wilkie, etc., mounted named-views of Oxford, others, 19th calf over marbled boards, rubbed and scuffed losses Mixed condition: each sheet affected by a degree of wear, damage, loss &/or repair. Dame Laura Knight DBE, RA, RWS (1877-1970) - A Darkie Dance 1927, signed and inscribed, charcoal, 35.5 x 26cm This drawing is recorded in the catalogue Dame Laura Knight's Drawings currently in preparation by R John Crofts FCA, ref D 0405. Exhibited: Nottingham, Castle Museum & Art Gallery, April 1989 and subsequently at Bristol, Cartwright Hall, Bradford and Plymouth and Wolverhampton Art Galleries. Drawn in 1927 when the artist joined her husband who was then undertaking portrait commissions in Baltimore, whilst staying with their orthopaedic consultant friend, Dr William S Baer of Johns Hopkins University. Dr Baer (Billy) and his wife were well known breeders of Chows in the United States and had kennels for 40 of the dogs. See the artist's autobiography "Oil Paint and Grease Paint", p.287 A few light old stains, including one from a drawing pin once in the extreme upper left corner, also approx. 2mm closed tear extreme lower centre. French School, 18th c - Portrait of Marie Thérèse de Larlan de Kercadio, Comtesse de Rochefort (née de Brancas; 1716-1782), full-length, titled, attributed to de Saint-Aubin to verso, pencil and bodycolour, 38.5 x 24.5cm A close friend to Madame du Deffand, the Comtesse was one of the great figures of the Parisian Enlightenment salons of the 18th century. Having been widowed very early on, she became the close friend of the Duc de Nivernais, whom she ended up marrying at the end of her life in 1782. It was said of the Duc de Nivernais that he had been for forty years her friend and forty days her husband. The sheet with some foxed portions. The later gilt frame with some losses and repairs.

Three French biscuit porcelain portrait medallions, comprising: two Sevres (hardpaste) white and gilt circular plaques of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette within moulded gilt-lined frames, circa 1785, blue enamelled interlaced L's and gilder's G marks, 7.7cm diam., the third with a Regency gentleman in white, to the left, within a circular laurel-moulded frame, unmarked, 9.5cm diam.
