Antonio Michieli b 1830 was the son of Guiseppe Michieli, a sculptor and owner of a bronze foundry in Venice, in the second half of the nineteenth century. Antonio travelled to London as a trade distributor and exhibitor for the foundry and settled there. He married Elizabeth Knowles in 1871 and was recorded as living in London in 1891
