Rock & Co., 1855-57, carte-de-viste portrait photograph of the author loosely inserted at front, contemp. half red morocco, modern reback, contained in modern purpose-made drop-over maroon morocco book box, 8vo, together with The Water Cure, pub. H. Barnard, Post Office, Matlock Bank, n.d., c. 1870s, twelve b&w cartoon illusts., bound concertina-style in orig. printed blue stiff wrappers, one or two folds, partly torn without loss, one fold restrengthened with clear archival tape,small chip to fore-margin of rear cover, and spine with some wear, slim square 12mo An attractive diary account of a visit to Malvern by R. B. (and his family) in 1868, a member of the Plymouth Brethren, resident in Guernsey. The diary gives interesting accounts of the scenery and topography of the region, as well as social encounters with friends and local people. (2)

A pair of Ludwigsburg flower pots and covers last quarter 18th century the first decorated on both sides with a profile portrait after the antique against a purple background the other painted with the portraits of gentlemen dressed in Renaissance style attire flanked by moulded swags tied together with ribbons the covers with leaf finial crowned interlaced C's in underglaze-blue impressed IP 11cm. 4.25in. Three Vienna-style cabinet plates mid 19th century each painted with a portrait of a young lady in costume set against a soft pastel background the rims with different jewelled gilt scrollwork on a deep underglaze-blue ground two with titled scenes 'Good Morning' and 'Quellennymphe nach C. Kiesel' one with lobed rim pseudo shield mark in underglaze-blue and CH in circle in overglaze-blue 26cm. 10.25in.; 24cm. 9.5in.
A pair of Derby two-handled vases and a cover circa 1775 each oviform body painted with a head and shoulders portrait of a young woman the reverse painted with figures in landscapes inside oval gilt frames flanked by moulded laurel swags 25cm. 9.75in. one cover lacking some losses to applied beads; also a Derby figure of a young woman representing Peace small chips; and a Derby figure of a putto restored (5)
An assorted collection of Varnish glass circa 1850 comprising seven vases of cased light green glass one silver and two ruby cased vases together with a cream and white opaline epergne in several detachable sections with a clear glass fitting supporting one central and three outer trumpets with three stylised leaves edged and trailed in ruby together with a miniature sulphide portrait of Robert Burns by John Ford and Co. signed J. Moor possibly part of a bottle or a vase the first group inset with inscribed discs for Hale Thomason's Patent and E.Varnish and Co. the epergne 56.5cm. 22.25in. the sulphide 6.5cm. 2.5in. (20)
A St Louis faceted sulphide and a blue-ground sulphide paperweight circa 1850 one set with a cristallo-cŽramie portrait of Louis Napoleon in profile to sinister inscribed in blue on the shoulder encircled by a torsade of spiralling red and latticinio threads cut with one top window and three rows of circular printies the other with a portrait of a gentleman in profile to sinister on a cobalt-blue ground 7cm. diameter by 5.4cm. high 3.25in. by 2.125in. and 7.8cm by 5.3cm. 3.25in. by 2.125in.
