*SIR ALFRED JAMES MUNNINGS, PRA (1878-1959, BRITISH) Portrait studies of Yvonne Adams oil on panel 10 1/2 x 16ins Provenance: This sketch, which has never been seen before, is understood to be the vendor's mother Yvonne Adams, expert in 17th and 18th century Meissen porcelain and daughter of Alfred Gates, owner of Arthur Ackermanns of Old Bond Street, London. Alfred Gates, a keen horse racing fan, sponsored the Queen Mother's race at Sandown and knew the artist Munnings personally. Picture authenticated and added to their catalogue by the Munnings Art Museum, letter of authentication available.
