This painting has hung for some years in Blo'Norton Hall, Norfolk, it is commented upon by Prince Frederick Dulleep Singh in his book - The Portraits in Norfolk Houses. The Kings apparel is described in some detail and from this description it was faithfully restored by Diana Rylands in 1978 after being found in a condition of disrepair except for the face which has not been restored except for cleaning. It is thought the King is aged 15 years in this picture.
