19th century English School oil on panel - portrait of a nobleman, believed to be Prince Frederick, Duke of York, wearing breast Star and Sash of the Order of the Thistle, in gilt frame, 27cm x 22cm CONDITION REPORT It has been pointed out that the sitter is not the Duke of York and is more likely a Danish nobleman wearing the Grand Cross sash and breast star of the Danish Order of the Dannenbrog

Son to the (?), oval, 4.2cm x 3.5cm, in glazed gilt frame CONDITION REPORT Dust and debris under the glass, otherwise appears to be in good condition

The original work was extensively illustrated by William Blake - the engravings taken from Indian paintings in Edward Moor's own collection. The majority of the collection was gifted to the British Museum by Mrs A. G. Moor in 1940
