This highly decorative prop is believed to have been used by Cecil Beaton for his book 'My Royal Past, The memoirs of Baroness Von Bulop' a shameless parody of the self-serving autobiographies written by minor aristocrats at the time and in which all the photographed female characters are played by men in drag.Provenance: Previously sold by these rooms for Mr Ray Gurton who was Cecil Beaton's personal cook.
