Portrait photograph of Krishnaraja Wadiyar [Maharaja of the Kingdom of Mysore] dated 1934, signed in ink, laid to board, 38 x 23cm, in a shagreen strut-back frame with 'KRW' monogram, 45.5 x 30cm overall; a small booklet of postcard views c.1930s, inscribed by the Maharaja of Bikaner to Christina Foyle, dated 1984, and Great War magazine with portrait to the cover (3)Condition report: Frame is probably faded (it is a mottled brownish colour), but intact. I do not know if it was once green in colour. The photo itself is a little faded.

[Comedies, Histories and Tragedies, The Third Impression, London: for P.C. 1664,] 2nd issue, adding for first time Pericles and the six plays now known as Shakespeare’s Apocrypha; lacking portrait frontispiece, title, one leaf in Sir John Oldcastle (A5) and final leaf (G6) of Locrine, these supplied in good facsimile; repairs to margins of Dedication leaves A2 and A3, A6 (Oldcastle) and G3 of Locrine with small repaired tear, G4 with slight loss at inner margin with small repairs, G5 with repaired upper corner. Generally a fair to good copy with occasional soiling or staining, in 20th century panelled calf binding by Bernard Middleton.Property of a deceased Cambridge academic estate. Believed acquired from a London dealer in the late 1990s or early 2000s.
CORNWALLIS (Sir Charles) A Discourse of the most Illustrious Prince, Henry, Late Prince of Wales, 1st edition, London: for John Benson 1641, small 4to, portrait frontispiece, disbound, page numbering in early ink hand.Note: Sir Charles Cornwallis (d. 1629), was knighted in 1603, and in 1604 became M.P. for Norfolk. Early in 1605 he was sent as resident ambassador to Spain, where he was very active in attempting to protect English merchants from the persecution of the Inquisition. In 1610 he became Treasurer of the household of Henry, Prince of Wales, and resisted the proposal to marry the prince to a daughter of the Duke of Savoy. In 1614 Cornwallis was suspected of fanning the parliamentary opposition to the King and he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for a year. Wing C6329.

Christian Friedrich Zincke (1683-84 - 1767), a fine portrait miniature; enamel on copper, shoulder length portrait of a gentleman (probably Joseph Paice) with powdered shoulder length wig and with white chemise, stock and lace cravat and with light brown coat, circa early to mid 18th century, oval gilt metal frame with suspension loop, together with a handwritten note by a Mrs A Drake regarding the identity of the sitter as follows The large sitter is Mr N Paice/the father of my G-Father's kind guardian/Mr Joseph P_the smaller/younger miniature is of the said Mr J P Grand/son of the MP for Lyme, the owner/of the medal of 1702 (the Paice family were merchants involved in overseas trade and the older Joseph Paice (circa 1658-1736) served as MP for Lyme Regis in 1701 in addition to his mercantile commitments (4.5cm x 3.75cm) (vertical hairline)Condition Report: This in not without condition issues namely a large, vertical crack running approx. to the right of the top of the subject's hair right down through to the subject's left eye and onto the bottom, it is also noted that under a loupe there appears to be a horizontal hairline running half way under the subject' s left shoulder.
