William Charles Ross (British, 1794-1860), portrait of the Duchess of Cork, half-length seated holding a letter wearing a blue velvet dress with an ermine trim, signed and dated 1834 verso, miniature on ivory, 12 by 8.5cm, in a fitted morocco presentation case.Note: by repute from descendants of the Earls of Cork who owned Marston House, near Frome. Queen Victoria refers to meeting the Duchess of Cork in her journals in 1838 and refers to her as the 'old Lady Cork'. John Turmeau (British, 1777-1846), a side profile portrait miniature painted circa.1810, to depict a gentleman dressed in a white cravat and black coat, impressed signature on card, glazed hair work reverse, 6.9 by 5.7cm, gilt metal framed.John Turmeau (177-1846) born to a Huguenot family long settled in London. Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1772-1836. Settled in Liverpool, he was a founding member and later treasurer of the Liverpool Academy, founded 1810.
George Patten (British, 1801-1865), a portrait miniature to memorialise a young man, painted in blue coat and white cravat, circa. 1820, on ivory, glazed hair with pearl encrusted funerary urn on opalescent backing to reverse, 5.4 by 4.3cm, yellow metal, chased foliate scroll framed, Ivory Act Exemption Certificate No: ERU9AFJW.Note: George Patten was born to William Patten, a RA exhibited miniature painter, training under his father before enrolling at the Royal Academy Schools. Noted for traveling to Germany in early 1840 to paint a portrait of Prince Albert, later exhibited at the Royal Academy. He was later appointed portrait painter to the Prince.

Edward Robertson (British, 1809), a portrait miniature painted to depict a gentleman, on ivory, 3.5 by 2.9 cm, gilt metal framed, Ivory Act Exemption Certificate No: E7DUP796.Edward Robertson was the son of the well-known Scottish miniaturist Andrew Robertson (1777-1845). Edward was initially trained as an artist by his father, who was one of the leading portrait miniaturists in London during the first four decades of the nineteenth century. Edward entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1827 and he exhibited his miniatures at the Royal Academy from 1830 to 1837.
