Napoleon Bonaparte interest: A lock of his hair, known as 'Boney's Whiskers' and a portrait miniature of Napoleon complete with letters from Countess Rosenblad nee Cloete, wife of Swedish First Minister, cousin of James Henry Beck; thence by descent. Second letter in Swedish dated 1855 and English translation. Third letter from John White dated 1871 referring to Colonel Cloete, one of the guards at St Helena. Fourth letter signed by John White passing the heirloom to Emily Beck White, and a daguerreotype of the portrait miniature dated c. 1855.Provenance - Countess Rosenblad nee Cloete to her cousin James Henry Beck; thence by family descent.
Frank (Francis) Owen Salisbury 1874-1962 British. Oil on canvas laid to board. “Portrait of a Lady wearing Pearls”. Signed and dated. Measures 69cm x 81cm. No Reserve. Condition Report – Excellent condition. Frame insert a little patchy. Could perhaps do with a varnish. No evidence of restoration when examined under UV.
The Searchers interest; a small selection of items belonging to Tony Jackson (bass guitar player and singer), including framed disc presented by Pye Records to Tony for the million sale of 'Needles and Pins' march 1964, pair of silver hallmarked cufflinks with TJ monogram inscribed, and a small photo album contain personal photos of himself, the band, early Skiffle band photos, photo booth pictures, portrait photos with Tony's handwriting on the reverse, and photo negatives.
