Isaac Whood (British, 1689-1752) - Portrait of a Cleric, oil on canvas, 70 x 60 cm. Provenance: From the collection of Peter Inskip, MBE, Trinity House, Cardington, Bedfordshire.Whood practised for many years as a portrait painter in Lincoln`s Inn Fields, London. His portraits of ladies were considered some of the best of the time. His great patron was John Russell, 4th Duke of Bedford, for whom he painted numerous portraits of members of the Spencer and Russell families, destined for Woburn Abbey; some of these were copied by Whood from other painters. At Cambridge there are portraits by Whood at Trinity College, including one of Isaac Barrow, and at Trinity Hall. There is a portrait of Archbishop William Wake by Whood at Lambeth Palace, painted in 1736 Lined canvas. Small tears which have occurred in original canvas but not lining. Varnish is degraded and very uneven. Some areas of retouching around the face. Dirty. One old repaired tear running vertically through his wig on the left-hand side. There is a small hole in his chest. Said to be signed but this is difficult to detect. A few small losses to the gilding and gesso

Two unusual 19th century Wedgwood oval carved cameo plaques, one depicting a Roman emperor, the second a lion attacking an animal, both with impressed marks and numbered 24 and 328, also a carved coloured glass oval plaque set with a classical profile portrait, 2.2cm, 2.6cm and 2.1cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: Lion - chip (1x2mm) to rim. Glass seal has several chips to bottom rim.
17TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL; oil on oval panel, portrait of Sir Walter Raleigh, unsigned, inscribed "Obit 1618" on label verso, 18 x 14.5cm, framed. CONDITION REPORT: There are several flecks of paint missing from the face, hair and clothing. There is some fine craquelure throughout too. There are some old chips to the back rim of the board. Other than these slight issues, the picture is ok.

Samuel Joseph Agnon 1966 Nobel Laureate Gilt & Copper Medal, Helene Guastalla, Limited Edition 1971. The medal is made with Samuel Joseph Agnon (also known as Shai Agnon) gilt (gold washed) portrait surrounded by the French inscription - Prix Nobel de Litterature 1966 (Nobel prize in literature 1966) and the famous author name - Agnon, the other side is decorated with - The mad dog by Helen Guastalla inspired by a scene from one of Agnon`s most famous books - Only Yesterday. Marked next to the Mad dog with the artist`s signature of Helen Guastalla. Also marked on the side - 1971, Cuivre (French for Copper). This is a limited edition medal numbered 12/100. The set comprises 2 plaques, the first with a high relief portrait of Israel`s former Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, the second plaque is inscribed - The Six-Day War 5-10 June 1967 over a relief of a seven light menorah and alongside the map of the state of Israel after the war. Both are mounted on a large wooden shield with 2 hangers on the reverse. Signed with the renowned sculptor name - Ralph J. Menconi. Plaque diameter - 27.5cm / 10.82oz.
