Anders Zorn (Swedish 1860-1920), Gilt framed watercolour, signed, dated 1892 (old label verso), ‘Jens Borg (Guide)’, 14cm x 12cm. Anders Zorn (Swedish 1860-1920) - Zorn was born in Mora, Dalarna. He studied at Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, Sweden from 1875-1880. He became an international success as one of the most acclaimed portrait painters of his era. His sitters included three American Presidents. Zorn was also famous for his studies of nudes; some of his important works can be seen at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Stockholm. The Zorn Collection in Mora, Sweden is a museum dedicated to the works of Andres Zorn. Original artist’s frame and tablet with inscription. Provenance: 1950 Collection of West of Scotland Industrialist, then by family descent till the present day.

From the Estate of Daniel Clancy, Voltaire Place, Grosse Pointe Farms. Frost and Reed label on stretcher. Superb quality and detail; expertly restored. As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: c. 30% overpainting in, but not necessarily limited to, the following areas: a spot in the top of her hair, in her right shoulder (from the viewer's perspective) and going down her right arm, at the bottom of the figure and along the bottom of the painting, in the LL corner and in the background in the upper right; overall fine craquelure is stable; lined (20th c.).- For High Resolution Photos visit Dumouchelles website.

BEARS A SIGNATURE READING "ANDY WARHOL" (US, 1928-1987), GOUACHE, H 10 1/2", W 10 1/2", PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN WITH BLACK HAIRSize is paper and image. Signed lower left; stamped in ink on verso in a rectangular box, "Andy Warhol "67" (see photo detail). Provenance: sold by Anderson Art Gallery, Constanta, Romania, January 2003 and listed by them as 'attributed to.' Ink stamped on verso, "Arthur Tooth Gallery London, England" and also having a London circular stamp (mostly not readable because the stamp did not print completely) see photo detail. Includes the frame. Notation "No: A.101. 0410 " at bottom of paper on verso. Not authenticated. Being sold for the benefit of Marygrove College, Detroit, MI. No other provenance available.LR corner crease; was 'tacked down' in all 4 corners; handling creases. Now professionally removed from all of the framing materials.
