A second quarter 20th Century white metal three piece tea service of plain bombe form, the teapot and jug with bayonet fit covers and angular hardwood handles, together with a tea caddy, the inside of the cover decorated in relief with a portrait study of a Far Eastern bearded gentleman upon a sunburst style ground, S/D, un-marked, height of the teapot 15cm, tested as silver. Follower of Ferdinand Bol, a gilded gesso framed Oil painting on Oak panel, 11 9/16'' x 9 5/8'' depicting a long haired moustached gentleman wearing a black cloak/coat and with lace cuffs and white collar. The sitter is seated in an interior adjacent to a window through which is visible a tower under a blue sky with clouds. Verso is glued a cut-out from the cover of the catalogue of the Goodrich Court auction and a type written label ''Rembrandt (RIJN), Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn. Born Leyden 1607, died Leyden 1669. Rembrandt was the greatest artistic individuality of the 17th century. Painted in 1634 Portrait of Nicolas Ruts and Martin Looten also in this year many portraits which cannot now be identified......From Goodrich Court Gallery, Monmouth. Dispersed August 1946''. The frame bears a label ''Rembrandt 1607-1669''. Purchased at the Goodrich Court sale in 1946, this picture was catalogued under the ''English 17th century'' section, Lot 717, ''Portrait of a Gentleman wearing a black suit with white collar and cuffs, panel 11 1/2 in by 9 1/2 in.'' The sitter bears an uncanny resemblance to one of the personalities in Rembrandt's painting of 1662, ''The Sampling Officials of the Cloth makers' Guild at Amsterdam''.

A pair of framed, signed with monogram, oils on ivorene, 20th Century portrait miniatures in decorative gilt frames, one shows a young girl holding a small terrier in 18th Century dress, titled verso, `Poor Little Rich Girl`, the other shows an interior kitchen scene with young girl pouring milk into a saucer for the kitten in basket behind, titled verso, `Rich Little Poor Girl`. Wiseman, in delicate white lace trimmed dress, with pale blue shawl and pearl drop earrings, in original oval gold frame with cobalt blue glass to back. 8cm x 6.5cm.
JOHN BUNCOMBE (fl. c.1790 - c.1830) Unsigned, watercolour on card, portrait miniature silhouette, of Captain George Crawford of the 110th Regiment of Foot, in profile to right, wearing scarlet uniform with buff coloured facings, white cross sash, and silver epaulette, in a rectangular black paper- mache frame, with oval slip, inscribed with sitters name verso. Crawford gained Captaincy 6th June 1794, although following the regiments disbandment, by 1795 he had transferred to the 33rd Regiment of Foot, becoming Captain again 1st September that year. 8.5cm x 7cm.
