WORLD COINS, Austria and Holy Roman Empire, Trautson, Paul Sixtus I (1589-1621), Silver Thaler, 1620, bust right, wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece, rev crowned coat-of-arms within Order of the Golden Fleece, all surmounted by crowned Imperial eagle, 28.65g (Dav 3425; KM 9). Slight edge weakness in striking and small striking split at 2 o’clock, otherwise virtually as struck with light tone and an excellent portrait, rare this nice. ex Spink Numismatic Circular, October 1999, vol CVII, no.8, item 4113 (illustrated on the front cover)

Light wear on highest points, otherwise extremely fine with a strong portrait and attractive light tone.
WORLD COINS, India, Gupta Empire, Samudragupta (c.335-380 AD), Gold Dinar, Standard type, SA-MU-DRA below arm of king standing left, holding garuda standard, no crescent, rev Lakshmi seated on throne, tamga in left field, 7.63g (BMC 3-13). Lightly double struck on reverse, portrait unusually well struck, good very fine.
BRITISH COINS, Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), Thistle Merk of Ten-Shillings, 1598, armoured bust right within beaded circles and legend surrounding, rev crown over thistle plant, date in legend surrounding with beaded circles, 5.98g (SCBI 58:1524-1527; S 5493). English School 19th Century Portrait of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, full length standing, wearing the Order of the Garter and Waterloo medal issued 1815-16 Oil on canvas 64 x 42cm; 25¼ x 16½in This is a portrait of Wellington in the mid to late 1840~s when his political career was coming to an end and is unusual in that he is not shown wearing his Spanish Order of the Golden Fleece

Coloured Figures of the Birds of the British Isles, London 1885-97, 7 vols., 8vo, contemporary half morocco, with photogravure portrait and 421 plates, bookplate of Robert Hargreaves, some foxing but plates generally in excellent condition and numbered in pencil, minor scuffing to the spines, plate 62 in vol. VI (Bulmers Petrel) is absent with a repeat of Sooty Shearwater in its place; and Notes on the Birds of Northamptonshire, London 1895, 2 vols., 8vo, contemporary half morocco, folding map and 37 (of 67) plates, bookplate of Robert Hargreaves, some foxing but plates generally in excellent condition and numbered in pencil, minor scuffing to the spines. Taylor By descent in the Wellesley family (erroneously thought to be a family member)Private English collection Johann Baptist Cramer was an English musician, pianist and composer, of German origin, brought to London as a child. In 1799 he met Beethoven, who was later to describe him as the finest pianist of his day. He founded his musical instrument manufacturing and music publishing firm: Cramer & Co. who made the world famous Cramer Pianos. A miniature version of this portrait was completed by George Lethbridge Saunders in 1827 and is owned by the NPG.
λ English School c. 1800 Portrait of Charlotte St. John half length, facing left, in a landscape Oval in a red leather case 75 x 59mm Charlotte was the daughter of George St John, 3rd Viscount Bolingbroke and his fist wife Charlotte Collins. St John later left his wife and had a relationship with his younger half-sister. As a result of the scandal they moved to France.
