Attributed to Sir William Charles Ross (1794-1860)/Portrait Miniature of Oswold Smith of Blendon Hall, Kent (1794-1863)/and Portrait Miniature of his wife Henrietta Mildred, née Hodgson (1805-1863)/both watercolour and bodycolour on ivory, 10.4cm x 8.2cm/Provenance: The Estate of the late Sir John and Lady Smith CONDITION REPORT: Lot contains an element of pre-1947 ivory or other organic material which may be subject to export restrictions. Velvet frames very worn. The gilt slips are different to each, his being plain, hers having a tooled border. Hers has a couple of small areas of what looks like glue residue between glass and gilt slip. She also has a tiny speck of perhaps glue residue to one side of her mouth. Generally the paintings look in good condition, his face has a slight blue tinge - I am unsure if this is intentional.
