Late 18th century oval portrait miniature on ivory depicting a gentleman wearing a blue coat, within a double-sided oval gold glazed frame with seed pearl border, the reverse with a compartment of plaited hair and seed pearl monogram, in an oval ebony frame, 'Richard Keene Ltd, All Saints, Ironbridge, Derby'. Portrait measures approximately 50 x 40mm, overall 95mm 85mm. APHA Ref: 6615AB3HPortrait appears to be in good condition with no noticeable damage to the ivory (not viewed outside frame). There is a light spot to the left shoulder, possibly some paint wear.

OLWYN BOWEY RA (b. 1936) oil on board - half length portrait of Sir Donald Gibson, signed and dated 1965 upper left, 55 x 41cmsAuctioneer's Note: Sir Donald Gibson was President to the Royal Institute of British Architects in the 1960s. In 1936 at the age of 29, he was appointed as Coventry's first City Architect and Planning Officer. Later in Nottingham, as County Architect, he and his development group evolved a method of building using a flexible steel frame (The CLASP System). The design for which can be seen in the background of this portrait. This prefabricated light gauge steel building system became popular in many coal - mining counties because of its ability to reinstate buildings which had been badly affected by mining subsidence.

KEITH WILSON, PORTRAIT OF A MYTHICAL WARRIOR pencil and watercolour, 38cm x 27cm, in black frame Provenance: Consigned by Stephen's widower Andrew Cowles Andy Cowles notes: 'Keith was a very successful set designer for stage, film and TV including The (new) Avengers. Keith's illustrations were featured in Stephen's book 'The Tree of Seasons'. Many of his male characters look a bit like Stephen actually - I think this one may do. But Keith also drew a beautiful portrait of Stephen which I have hung at home.'
