EBERLING, ALFRED 1872-1951 Portrait of Ballerina Tamara Karsavina Signed and dated 1911 Oil on canvas, 61 by 54 cm. Eberling was a Court Painter under Nicholas II, and under the Communists. He painted the portrait of Lenin on the old 3 ruble note, shown below. Also shown below is a newspaper clipping of his studio, showing this lot.
Bert Sproston's blue & white England v Czechoslovakia international cap, 1937, in original box of issue; sold with a colour Topical Times portrait panel card of Sproston in Leeds United kit; Sproston's F.A. itinerary for the match; printed details of his international career; & a Wills's Cigarettes portrait card (6) Bert Sproston was born 22nd June 1915. He was a Leeds United player when he won this, the fourth of his eleven England international caps against Czechoslovakia at White Hart Lane on 1st December 1937. The right back also played for Spurs & Man City.
