JOHN LENNON; two pencil drawings and two crayon drawings; a portrait of Cynthia with UFO flying above her head, shining sun in one corner and flying birds and the abbreviation for her name 'Cyn' to the bottom and man's face in profile, initialled 'JL' 21 x 15cm, a smaller drawing of Cynthia Lennon with UFO above her head and the abbreviated form of her name 'Cyn' and initialled 'JL', 8 x 14cm, a red crayon abstract drawing of a man in profile and the same profile opposite and upside down, 8.5 x 10cm and a red crayon abstract drawing of an man in profile and verso an abstract image of a man smoking, 12 x 7.5cm and six issues of 'Analog: Science Fiction and Fact' books, originally belonging to John Lennon, cover illustrations by Vincent Di Fate, John Schoenaerr, Lewis, Kelly Freas. Provenance: On 6th July 1957 at St. Peter's Church Woolton Village Fête in Liverpool, the Quarrymen played a gig there led by John Lennon, this is where the vendor met John Lennon and a friendship was formed which lasted until Lennon's death in 1980. The drawings are from the period of 1958 through to 1963 and the magazines range from the 1950s to the mid-1970s. †CONDITION REPORT This lot qualifies for Artist Resale Rights. Early 19th Century Miniature Portrait of a Gentleman, possibly a Naval Officer. This fine quality portrait depicts the head and shoulders of a gentleman wearing dark blue jacket, with a white and blue striped shirt. The reverse with a lock of hair a seed pearl initials 'AA'. Contained in a gold coloured oval double sided frame. Height of frame 2 1/2 inches.
Georgian Miniature Portrait of a Military Officer. A fine quality head and shoulder portrait of an Officer of a Royal Regiment. He wears scarlet coatee with dark blue Royal facings with gilt buttons. To his right shoulder a single gold bullion epaulette. Mounted into a carved gilt and gesso frame. Circa 1810. Height of portrait 2 1/4 inches.
