Watercolour Sketch Of Young Moorish Gentleman By J. S. Morland. Late Victorian watercolour by Liverpool born artist James Smith Morland 1846-1921 Signed 'J. S Morland, dated 1878. Watercolour on paper depicting a portrait of a young man in Moorish style dress. In good overall condition with no signs of fading, some foxing to top left. Housed in gilt frame. Approx dimensions 7 x 10 inches.
A gold oval pendant locket, glazed with the portrait miniature of a gentleman, wearing a dark jacket, detailed 9 C, a silver gilt brooch, designed as the portrait of a lady in an Art Nouveau design, later fitted with a freshwater pearl drop, Chester 1902 and a three row bracelet of cultured pearls and turquoise beads, on a gold snap clasp, glazed with an oval interwoven hair locket compartment, (3).
A gold and enamelled brooch, of oval form, with a ribbon tied bow surmount, the central panel enamelled with the portrait of a lady, within a blue enamelled surround, a gold mounted, oval shell cameo brooch, carved as the portrait of a lady, an oval green stone set brooch and a pair of Victorian gilt metal mounted oval shell cameo pendant earrings, designed as the portraits of ladies, (4).
A silver gilt Limited Edition oak lined box, detailed The Nelson Bicentenary Casket 1805-2005, numbered 3 from a Limited Edition of 5, the hinged lid glazed with a rectangular miniature view, depicting The Battle of Trafalgar, the front with a circular portrait miniature of Nelson, the back with a circular coat of arms, raised on four shaped feet by Richard Jarvis and Ian Calvert, with the original fitted case and numbered certificate of authenticity, detailed Purchase Date 25.5-2006, giving details of the artists and craftsman who made the casket.
