Fierenzola Cremonese (18th century) Portrait of Felice Torelli three quarter view head study in charcoal with extensive inscription in ink on the recto another study in profile on the verso 29.5 x 21 cm. (11 3/4 x 8 1/4 in). *** The indistinctly signed inscription (?Benedetto Rosetta) states that this portrait of the baroque painter Felice Torelli (1667-1748) by his pupil Fierenzola Cremonese is vouched to be a very good likeness by another one-time pupil and respected student Giuseppe Zuandetti.

Condition report: 4 engraved sheets (2 of Panorama of Athens 1 plan of Axum and 1 of ruminants) by F. Rosmäsler for Encyclopädie 1829 unframed with folds and slight spotting others all under glass with heavy dust as listed plus 19th century German river view and tinted lithograph portrait of children of the Bruce family 1856.
A group of early continental portraits including a group portrait of Spinola Richardot Mancicidor and other leading figures of the United Netherlands by Van der Heyden Philip IV of Spain by Cornelis Galle Louis XIII of France by Matthaeus Merian Ignatius de Loiola by Thomas de Leu Hendrik van der Borcht by Hollar after Holbein and others engravings mostly 17th century most with the collector`s ink-stamp of W.B. Dukes [Lugt 2757a] on the verso v.s. all unframed (15). Condition report: Most trimmed on platemark or with thread margins all but Hollar hinged onto support cards.

Condition report: Lafayette portrait with handling creases and surface dust mostly marginal ldham-Barford engraving with fine spotting overall others variously trimmed or mounted on supports includes one duplicate.

(13 1/2 x 9 1/4 in) unframed. Condition report: Surface dirt the overlay with minor handling creases and a short split at the lower edge mounted on a loose album leaf.
