A 19th century Staffordshire portrait figure of Abdul Mejid, Sultan of Turkey, height 31cm, together with two Staffordshire flatback figure groups (3).Condition report: The head of the Sultan has been broken and glued, there are a few firing faults, slight scratching to his elbow, some paint loss to the black decoration, particularly the sword and shoes. there is slight discolouration to the base and general kiln marks. Please see extra images on David Lay website.The Royal family group has a chip on the pedestal and another to the back, the remaining group appears damage free.
A pair of late 19th century alabaster carvings of recumbent dogs on oval bases, length 17cm, a burr wood 'go to bed' style vesta box, a pair of bookends fashioned as leather-bound gilt-edged books, a pair of treen book bookends, and an Italian marquetry book slide inscribed 'Firenze', two tortoiseshell cases, two portrait silhouettes and a verre eglomise picture titled 'The Cottage Girl'.
A Victorian oval enamelled brooch, set with an enamelled representation of the Portrait of a Lady as a Vestal Virgin after Angelica Kauffmann, within ropetwist mount, dimensions 4 x 4.6cm. £400-£500 --- Angelica Kauffmann (1741-1807) was a Swiss classical artist who had a highly successful career in London and Rome, and was a skilled artist in portraiture, historical genre and landscape. Kauffmann was one of the two female founding members of the Royal Academy in London in 1768, the other being Mary Moser. The Portrait of a Lady as a Vestal Virgin, painted 1781-2, is now in the collection of the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden.

Good quality late 19th / early 20th Century walnut and parcel gilt display easel, the pierced carved surmount above a lyre shaped base with sliding support and adjustable back stand, 70ins high approximatelyGood condition, no damage or restoration. Adjustments go down low with sliding top clamp, so a large portrait may work but a landscape not so much. 31ins maximum height. Width of lower support is 23.5ins.It is steady, does have scratches and scuffs to the wood and would benefit from polishing. Overall fine. No provenance.
