Some fairly minor scuffs and losses to the frame but otherwise ready to hang.

René Auguste Constantyn (c.1685- c.1726) oil on canvas - Portrait of a young Gentleman, named verso as Elias Le Hardy (b. 1717) inscribed verso 'A Constantin pinxit 1733', 75cm x 60cm, in oval gilt frameThe canvas has been re-lined and restored and with areas of overpainting visible under a UV light. The stretcher has been replaced, presumably at the time of lining and restoration. The frame has several losses. An impressive looking portrait.
John Downman (1750-1824) pair of watercolours - Portraits of Ambrose and Sarah Rhodes of Bellairs, each initialled and dated 1781, inscribed verso, 21cm x 17cm.Provenance: Marilyn Pink, Los Angeles The images have discoloured as seen in the photographs, they may have been in different mounts previously. Some staining to the paper on both portraits. The lady has glass, the gentleman lacking, overall framed size 33cm x 28.5cm. The frame of the lay portrait is cracked top and bottom - see further images.
Early 17th century English School, oil on canvas laid onto an oak panel, portrait of a gentleman named as Sir Charles Montagu, with coat of arms, dated 1603 and with Latin inscription, 90 x 72cm, in carved gilt frame. NB: The subject appears to be Sir Charles Montagu of Boughton (c. 1564-1625) based on the age of sitter and a match for the coat of arms. Charles Montagu lived in Barking and represented Harwich and Higham Ferrers in Parliament. Montagu died at the age of 61 and was buried in St Margaret's Church, Barking where survives his mural monument depicting a small effigy of Sir Charles fully armed, sitting in a military tent during a campaign and inscribed: Heere lieth the body of ye worthy knight Sr Charles Montagu who died at his house at Cranbrook in Essex in the parish of Barking the 11th of September in ye yeere of our Lorde God 1625 being of ye age of 61 yeares who gave to ye poore of Barking forty pounds'Provenance: a local private collection. Please see close-up images with and without a UV light which best illustrate the condition. There are areas of paint lifting an 'bubbling' and mostly the surface appears stable. A couple of small paint chips. The gilt frame is loose at the joints. An impressive looking portrait.
