A Georgian yellow metal mourning pendant in fitted leather mounted case. Finely painted with an ivory portrait miniature of a woman, with guilloche enamel and lock of hair verso. 8cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Very good condition. Three small spots of surface spores/mildew raised from the surface, should be possible to delicately clean these away. The ivory is free from any cracking, the paint free from wear and excessive fading. The metal and enamel are free from faults. The case with some wear but certainly presentable.

Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. Consistent re-touching throughout the sky, around the figure, within his attire, the outline of the horse and within tail and across horizon and less so within the foreground. Overall appearance of the painting is somewhat flat from the restoration process and paint is rather thin in places. Fine - medium sized cracquelure across the surface which is stable. Light surface dirt and discoloyred varnish.

Circle of Caspar Netscher (1639-1684) Three quarter length portrait of a lady seated before a landscape with a sheep Oil on canvas, 35.5cm by 25.5cm Contained in period carved giltwood frame In restored condition. Cleaned and re-lined. Delicate re-touching to right hand side of the lady`s face and a small area on the left hand side of her chest and slightly into the drapery. 3/4 of her right hand side sleeve is over painted with more delicate re-touches to her right hand side arm and hand. A large part of the sheep is over painted and amended. Smaller more minor areas throughout the drapery and background . The paint of her blue cloak is very thin and pale canvas is showing through in places. Generally flat surface. Fine Ccacquelure across surface. Some surface dirt.

Attributed to Michael Dahl (1659-1743) A head and shoulders portrait Mr William Woodward Oil on canvas, 71.5cm by 61.5cm (oval) William Woodward was the only son of Edward Woodward and grandson of Sir Christopher Lewkenor, and heir to John Lewkenor, his second cousin. He took the name of Knight upon marrying his first cousin Elizabeth, and great niece of Sir Richard Knight, he died in 1721. Knight is a branch of the Austen family of whom the novelist writer Jane Austen (1775-1817) was a member of. Provenance: Chawton House in Hampshire. The picture bears the inventory number 15 The canvas has an old reline. The left hand side edge of the sitters lower body below the cravat and across towards his left hand arm has consistant re touching and in filling to old craquleure. These is more linear and isolated re touching/over painting within the folds of the drapery of his left hand side arm (the edge nearest to his body) there are other areas of re touching and over painting within the folds of his gown. There are more minor areas around his shoulder, beneath the cravat, an isolated patch to the parting of his hair running approximately quarter of the length down his face. There are some very minor and isolated patches to the background. There has been an old clean and re varnish, there is small sized craquelure across his entire face and through the cravat and other untouched areas of the drapery.

Paint is somewhat thin in places, especially within the background and areas of the wig. There is delicate re-touching to the edge of the wig on the upper right hand side and tiny areas to either side of the cravat.

His success and prominence as a leading light in the artistic world was attested by securing many illustrious commissions for portraits, including Queen Anne of Great Britain, Queen Christina of Sweden and Prince George of Denmark, in addition to many members of the British Royal Court and aristocracy. His work is remarkable in depicting the subject in a full length pose, which creates an added presence and sense of importance to the overall impression

Attributed to George Clint RA (1770-1854) A head and shoulders portrait of a young lady, reputedly a member of the Payne-Gallwey family, seated with a violin nearby Oil on canvas, 88.5cm by 68.5cm Provenance : Thirkleby Park, Nr Thirsk, Yorkshire In fully restored condition. Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. The paint is slightly thin in the background and the surface is somewhat flat from the conservation process. Small areas of re-touching in the background, which is slightly discoloured) with more delicate infilling to the flesh of her chest area, very superficial scuff in this region also. Fine cracquelure to areas across the surface which are stable. In a modern molded gilt coloured frame, circa 30 years old. There is a significant X shaped crack to the lower right hand corner with small associated losses. Other miscellaneous cracks and splits to the corners and elements of the gesso but essentially intact.

Covered in a thin layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Two small areas of paint loss along the right hand side edge - one being approx 0.5cms in length and the other more of a chip. There is a small amount of lifting to the paint in this area also. Light cracquelure to areas and a superficial scratch to the top of his headdress. Light surface dirt.
