Awarded to Private James Lumley Second East Surrey Regiment and Northumberland Fusiliers. Together with portrait of the recipient in Maltese Masonic Regalia.
SMALL CHINESE PORCELAIN TABLE SCREEN, the panel painted with portrait of a standing female with a similar portrait of an immortal to the reverse within stylized foliate frames. Similarly decorated base, with pierced supports. 9.5" high, 5.5" wide overall (24.5 x 14.5cm). Provenance: London Estate of an eminent Chinese collector. CONDITION REPORT: The panel has a number of small edge chips, the base has surface wear but no obvious damage or restoration.
COLLECTION OF CHINESE GLASS OR ROCK CRYSTAL REVERSE PAINTED SNUFF BOTTLES of various shapes and sizes, featuring portrait studies, battle scenes, animals, birds and foliage. (14 snuff bottles). Provenance: London Estate of an eminent Chinese collector. CONDITION REPORT: 11 are missing their stopper or part of stopper. Some have chips at the top, some have damage to glass (interior) One stopper appears to be stuck to snuff bottle.
ATTRIBUTED TO W.J. CHAPMAN (Welsh Mid 19th century), 'Aunty Anne', a three-quarter length portrait of a Welsh woman in shawl, seated, believed to be one Anne Jones of Merthyr Tydfil. Oils on canvas. 30" x 26" (76 x 66cm) approx. Provenance: from her family. CONDITION REPORT: Canvas has been lined and picture shows a certain amount of over-painting and repainting. Maple frame with gilt slip.
