From 1961 to 1989 he taught in the department of the School of Art at Huddersfield Polytechnic."Note: by repute, this work painted in the sitter's library in Duke Street, Penrith, as one of a pair - the pair featuring Margaret Atkinson, wife of Wilfrid.
