17TH CENTURY DUTCH SCHOOL; oil portrait of a gentlewoman with lettering to the bottom of the image, possibly 'Elisabeth W Brechts VI' and below indistinct lettering and 'Doochter', size 69 x 57cm, framed and glazed. CONDITION REPORT There is significant flaking and bubbling to the paint throughout. Relined.

Early photographic interest, an interesting and varied collection of 8cm glass plate photographic slides, mostly representing travels to the African continent and Asia, to include; views of sharks being landed from a cruise liner, other scenes of fishing, portrait photography of the visitors and local population, a map detailing Dominica, scenes of everyday life, to include; domestic scenarios and tribal gatherings, one detailing Meke at Nikelo war dance of Fiji etc, together with other photographic and hand painted/coloured slides of novelty and humerous cartoon scenes etc, contained within two stained pine cases, one with internal label reading 'Herbert Bell Photographer Ambleside' (122 approx in total)

Norman Stansfield Cornish (1919-2014), 'Gyp', portrait of a border collie, pastel on brown paper, signed, 38cm by 26cm, with Stone Gallery Label verso. * Subject to ARR/Droit de Suite. CONDITION REPORT: Provenance: Gifted to the vendor's grandmother by her employer at the Stone Gallery in Newcastle Upon Tyne, where Norman Cornish exhibited. The picture appears to be in excellent condition with no areas of foxing, fading etc. The brown paper is not laid down perfectly flat and is lifting slightly in some areas.

A 19th Century hand painted Wedgwood plate, having raised centre with portrait of a young woman, surrounded by an ornate transfer printed border, with paper label to base A.I.E 1874 Annual International Exhibition, with painted artist monogram 'AD', 43 cm diameterSome pre-glazing scratches through the face of the woman-resulting in small lines of bubbles. Light pitting to areas of the glaze. Some scuffs and scratches consistent with age and general usage. Possible re-painting to area of rim. Structurally in good condition with no cracks.

Attributed to Peter Paillou (1757-1832) - Miniature shoulder length portrait of Eliza Stirling, her hair in ringlets wearing a black dress with white puff sleeves, on ivory, in gilt metal oval frame with chased foliate frame and glazed, the reverse with aperture revealing plaited hair, 2.5ins x 1.625ins overall Note: Eliza is recorded as residing in Rothesay and afterwards Stirling in Scotland. She was the sister-in-law of John Montgomery of Trinidad. Her name appears on a list of people who had an address in Scotland and were awarded compensation for slaves they owned.
