*Dame Laura Knight (1877 - 1970), pencil and coloured charcoal study - portrait of a man, in glazed gilt frame, 45cm x 29cm. Provenance: Laura Knight's Studio Sale Sotheby's London 1st February 1978 - part of a group of nine (sold with original bidding slip), together with a letter from City of Nottingham Museum, suggesting a sitter of the portrait CONDITION REPORT The name suggested was John Campbell, a clarinet player
*John Minton (1917 - 1957), pen and ink sketch - portrait of a young man, in glazed gilt frame, 37cm x 27cm, together with two volumes A Commemorative Exhibition John Minton 1967 and Dance till the Stars Come Down, A Biography of John Minton by Frances Spalding. Provenance: Mercury Gallery label verso dated 26.11.1972 purchased by Keith Lichtenstein. Christies 20th December 1974 purchased by Peter Moldon for 80 guineas - also included are Moldon's notes regarding the study and suggesting the sitter could be Minton's lover Ricky Stride
George Hughes (fl. 1813 - 1858), pair oils on canvas - portrait of a gentleman writing in a journal, the artist's name and address appearing on a loose piece of paper, his wife in blue dress with lace collar. The sitters Mr John Torrance (1786, Ayreshire - 1870, Montreal) and Elizabeth Torrance, née Fisher (1794 - 1862). The Torrances' lived at St. Antoine Hall west of Windsor. Both signed, in gilt frames, 72.5cm x 60cm CONDITION REPORT Both have been re-lined and restored, but some years ago. Some small areas of paint loss but nothing major. Damage to both frames to the corners

An 18th Century Vargueno on Stand. The carved front depicting portrait roundels flanked by attendants, cherubs & lions, and fitted with a gilt iron lockplate. The fitted interior accommodating various drawers with ornately carved façades and moulded edges. The stand with arcaded rail and sledge form feet. 61½ ins (156 cms) in height, 42½ ins (108 cms) in width, 24 ins (61 cms) in depth.
After Elizabeth Vigee Lebrun Circa 1850. A Fine OiI on Canvas: Self Portrait of the Artist seated at her easel 40 ins x 33½ ins (102 cm x 85 cms), in an elaborate Florentine giltwood frame carved with open scrolls of undulating acanthus and ivy with berries, 51¼ ins x 45 ins (130 cm x 114 cm).
A Small Gilt Metal D-shaped Jewellery Box and a Pair of Spring Loaded Lorgnettes with gilt wire frames and an 'amber' coloured handle, 7 ins (18 cms) in length. The box having a hinged lid edged in ropetwist and inset with a painted portrait bust of an 18th century lady dressed in finery, 1 inch (2.5 cms) deep, 2½ ins x 2½ ins (6.5 cms x 6.5 cms).
