§ Steven Spurrier, RA, ROI (British, 1878-1961) Portrait of Gertrude Spurrier, the artist's wife oil on canvas, unframed 36 x 31cm (14 x 12in) Provenance: By descent within the family of the artist. Exhibited: Steven Spurrier, No. 51 (date of exhibition unknown) Unframed, dirty and with holes, old exhibition No. 51 stuck to the front. Canvas bowing.
Circle of John Currie (British, 1884-1914) Portrait of a lady, believed to be the suffragette Christabel Pankhurst oil on canvas, in a gilt frame 42 x 32cm (16 x 12in) Other Notes: Christabel Pankhurst (1880-1958) was born in Manchester and was a suffragette following her mother Emmeline Pankhurst, who was married to the radical socialist Dr Richard Pankhurst. Various holes to the right of the sitter's face. Quite dirty.
•GEORGES CSATO (1910-1983) A GROUP OF FRAMED ABSTRACT COLLAGES two signed: Csato, one dated: 65, collage various sizes (4) The Hungarian born artist Georges Csato studied in Vienna then in Prague under some of the great names of the period including Archipenko, Hofer, Kokoschka and Thiel who had taken refuge there having fled from Nazi Germany. After the War (when he was imprisoned by the Russians) he became a distinguished portrait painter with sitters including Colette, Einstein, Rachmaninov and Bertrand Russell. His first exhibition, organized by Jean Cocteau, was held in Paris in 1948. Attractive abstracts like the present work were generally produced to great acclaim in the post-war years. A recent retrospective was held by the Burford art dealer Brian Sinfield.

Sri Lanka, 9 photographs circa 1885-1890 by Skeen. Malaysia, Singapore, 6 photographs, all 20 by 26 cm, including a good group portrait. Egypt, 13 photographs by Bonfils, Arnoux, and Zangaki including a view of the Sphinx by Bonfils. One photograph of Aden. One panorama of Malta. Albumen prints, diverse formats from 21.5 by 28 cm to 20 by 25 cm. Half-calf binding in good condition

THREE WILLAM EDWARD KILBURN STEREOSCOPIC DAGUERREOTYPES In their Kilburn patent viewing cases inscribed "By appointment Mr. Kilburn 222 Regent Street" portrait of a Victorian Lady portrait of two Victorian ladies, one seated portrait of a lady, the two plates detached from the case, in bad condition with scratches. The case in good condition.
