NO RESERVE Portraits.- English School (19th century) George Canning, a portrait of the British statesman and Tory politician who served as Prime Minister for the final four months of his life, brush and ink, monochrome wash, inscribed in pen and brown ink with indistinct pencil attribution in the lower right that reads 'org. drawing/ [?]Harding', on thin card with tissue overlay, sheet 220 x 170 mm. (8 3/4 x 6 3/4 in), some surface dirt and light browning, unframed, [circa 1820s or later]; together with a small group of 9 further portraits by various hands, including Frederick William Robertson (1816-1853), known as "Robertson of Brighton", a profile portrait with pencil annotation verso suggesting the sitter is possibly the English actor and theatre manager Samuel Phelps (1804-1878), and others of anonymous sitters, also includes two silhouette portraits, 260 x 200 mm. (10 1/4 x 7 7/8 in) and smaller, some occasional surface dirt, browning, and minor abrasions, all unframed, [early to mid-19th century] (12)

Matrimonial advertisement.- Knight (Charles, Windsor-based bookseller, stationer and publisher) The courteous baronet or the Windsor advertiser, broadside with portrait of Sir John Dineley-Goodere, 5th Baronet of Dineley, engraving inset within a printed letter on the right and left margins, signed 'John Dinely', with woodcut ornamental border, 415 x 290 mm. (16 1/4 x 11 1/2 in), minor spotting and browning, framed and glazed, 1799.Literature:BM Satires 9446⁂ Dineley persevered in his addresses to the ladies till the very close of his life, but without success. He died at Windsor in November 1809, aged about eighty. At his decease the baronetcy became extinct.

(17 x 11 1/2 in), with good margins, some small repairs, mainly to margins, light surface dirt and browning, all unframed, [Innsbruck, 1603]; together with Francesco Bartolozzi's 'Portrait of Hans Holbein', 'Portrait of Holbein's Wife' and two plates after Holbein from the Royal Collection, stipple-engravings with hand-colouring, 520 x 380 mm. R.A., of British War Medal and Victory Medal, together with related ephemera including portrait photographs, certificates of birth, baptism, marriage and death, letters and postcards sent home from the war, photograph of his butcher's shop, copies of the Watch on the Rhine newspaper and the Cologne Post Footnote:- Andrew Gibson Leadbetter joined the King's Own Territorials at the beginning of the First World War, later serving with the Royal Artillery Regiment. He was demobbed in 1919 and went on to open his own butcher's business

A Second World War Trio to Merchant Navy Casualty Stanley William Todd, comprising 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star and War Medal, together with a portrait photograph and Ministry of Transport award slip, in a glazed display frame Footnote:- Stanley William Todd was a Third Radio Officer who died 7th November 1941, aged 21 years, while serving on the maiden voyage of M.V.Nottingham, which was attacked by the German U-boat U-74 during the Battle of the Atlantic. She was carrying a cargo of Scotch Whisky from Glasgow to New York.
