1838 Coronation: an earthenware plate, the border moulded with swags and garlands, printed in black and decorated in colours with a named and dated portrait, 182 diameter, circa 1847 * These darkly printed plates with coloured enamel decoration are thought to have been printed in about 1847 at a time when there was much interest in the Royal Family and their children
Prince Albert: a rare Swansea pottery nursery plate of wavy outline, the border moulded with flowers of the union, printed in black with a named military portrait, the reverse impressed Dillwyn, 158 diameter, circa 1840 * See Victoria Remembered, plate 79 where the author speculated as to whether such pieces were produced following the engagement of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, announced on 23rd November 1839 or their subsequent marriage on 10th February 1840.
Prince Albert: a unique rectangular English pottery plaque finely painted with a three-quarter length portrait of the Consort dressed in a dark coat holding a hat and cane, a classical temple and trees in the background 187 x 139 * A watercolour of the same subject by William Druond, sold by Lawrences of Crewkerne, 21st May 1999, lot 699 may well have been the inspiration for this plaque. The National Portrait Gallery has an engraving by H. Robinson taken from the watercolour. See Victoria Remembered, rear of dust jacket. Sold by Sotheby's Belgravia, 20th March 1980, lot 91
Prince Albert: an impressive white parian portrait bust after the original by Joseph Durham depicted wearing the orders of the Golden Fleece and Garter circa 1855, 510 high, complete with a metal base applied, with a scrolling cartouche named 'Albert' * The original portrait bust by Joseph Durham in the Guildhall was destroyed in 1940. A similar (if not this bust) was sold at Christies on 15th June 1961 as lot 20. Exhibited 'Albert, his Life and Work' Royal College of Art October 1983 to January 1984, item number 4
1879 Marriage of Arthur, Duke of Connaught: a very rare rectangular pottery plaque painted in puce with twin portrait ovals within elaborate gilt and jewelled oval cartouche centred by AL monogram surmounted by the Crown, 211 x 280 * Arthur William Patrick Albert was the third son of Queen Victoria born 1st May 1850 at Buckingham Palace, he married HRH Princess Louise Margaret Alexandra Victoria Agnes, third daughter of HRH Prince Frederick Charles of Prussia at St George's Chapel on 13 March 1879
