A gold and topaz set single stone brooch, pierced in a scrolling and beaded design, a gold mounted oval shell cameo brooch, carved as the portrait of a lady, detailed 9ct, a 9ct gold, opal and sapphire set oval cluster ring, a gold and red gem set pendant, two pairs of ear studs and a gilt metal oval hinged bangle.
A Victorian white painted cast iron urn or fountain attributed to Andrew Handyside Foundry. The upper socle cast with the portrait heads of 'Milton, Shakespere, Scott, Stephenson, Watt, Wellington, Nelson' and Peel the underside of the basin cast with interlaced strap-work and foliate ornament set on a chamfered base, 111cm high x 125cm diameter. Illustrated Provenance: this model appears as drawing No27 in the 1874 catalogue of Andrew Handyside. Andrew Handyside acquired the firm in 1848, formerly owned by Weatherhead and Glover 1818-1843; thence Thomas Wright 1843-1848. He expanded the production to cover architectural, engineering and decorative wares such as garden vases and fountains.
A pair of South European repousse brass pictorial roundels of Renaissance style, late 19th century, one depicting the coronation of Charles V as a Holy Roman Emperor (r.1519-1556), the other depicting Charles V on his death bed, each surrounded by a border of war trophies and surmounted by his portrait medallion 'Carl V Magnus' 98cm diameter (2).
