Mid-Cheshire Pitt Club : silver waiter and 150th anniversary Wedgwood eponymous portrait plaque, the waiter Lowe & Son, Chester 1961 , the plain field engraved with a dedication to the almoner, 1963, within a lobed rim, diameter 30.5cm, 33oz 3dwt; the framed oval plaque, 10cm, detailed on the reverse 1814 - 1964.
ASSORTED LOOSE PRINTS AND ENGRAVINGS TO INCLUDE: THOMAS WORLIDGE AFTER REMBRANDT, `Portrait of an Eastern Merchant`, signed and dated 1751 in the plate, 8" x 5 1/2"; a Rembrandt Self Portrait, 4 3/4" x 4" and various other works to include Portrait engravings, caricatures etc; and two framed engravings `Satyre` and `Les Argonautes`.
MISS PARKER (19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL) - Portrait of a gentleman with curly hair wearing black waistcoat and jacket and a cravat, inscribed verso "By Miss Parker, Grove Cottage, Ramsgate, April 1863", 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and one further miniature to include after Vigee Lebrun, `Self Portrait of the Artist at an Easel`, 3" x 2 1/2" oval (2).
ATTRIBUTED TO CHARLES COUSEN (c. 1821-1889) - Full length Portrait of a Cricketer Standing on the Pitch with Tent and Woodland behind, inscribed "C. Couzens" and dated 1846, pastels, 20 1/2" x 14". See Brian Stewart and Mervin Cutten "The Dictionary of Portrait Painters in Britain" for a reference to Charles Cousen (Couzens) born in Marylebone and listed as a portrait painter aged 30 in the 1851 census for Charles Street, London. (see illustration).
GEORGES DARASSE (b. 1855) - Head and Shoulders Portrait of an Italian Peasant, signed and dated `Naples 1892`, pencil/charcoals, 8 1/2" x 7 1/4"; together with a hand coloured print of a young girl inscribed with details in pencil; and a Victorian photograph of a young girl by W. Boughton & Sons, Kings Street, Deptford, all unframed (see illustration)(3).
