A collection of effects of PAYMASTER COMMANDER HORACE GELDARD OSWIN of the Royal Navy consisting of Gieves of London Naval cocked hat together with gilt wound epaulettes within a scumbled tin case, gold braided mess dress jacket, two pairs of trousers, service dress jacket, long jacket and later boat cloak. Also, 1920's and later photographs including portrait, two of wedding, and group portrait with King George VI and other high-ranking servicemen. Awarded the OBE in the 1947 New Year Honours

The Duke of Gloucester, nephew of George III, was the first President, and William Wilberforce one of its leaders. The abolitionist William Roscoe of Liverpool had proposed that trade with Africa would be the greatest benefit to promoting civilisation in Freetown but George Harrison advises caution. COPAC lists 3 copies of his pamphlet (BL, Newcastle University, and the Society of Friends).
