John Pinches - a 22ct gold Sir Winston Churchill commemorative medallion, hallmarked London 1965, obverse full face portrait, reverse coat of arms, no.347 impressed to rim, diameter 5cm, weight 104.3g. * Not in original case. Light rubbing to raised areas on the portrait and coat of arms from handling. Several casting imperfections to rim and some tiny dings to edges. Light, patchy bronze toning to the gold to the portrait's forehead and top of reverse side.
A cased late Georgian or early Victorian 18ct gold, enamel, portrait cameo and half pearl bangle, hallmarked JL, probably John Linnit, London, the finely carved oval pink and ivory shell cameo depicting a portrait of a flower maiden, with a cobalt blue enamelled border, within a tubular frame with conforming enamelled mounts set with half pearls, on a hinged, reeded bangle, internal diameter 5.6cm., faults, in the original morocco case.* Condition: Losses to enamel to foliate mount on right side of the bangle. Small chip to enamel to the opposing side and two very small chips to the enamel to the crown shaped mounts above and below the cameo. Several small dents and a small split to the gold to the inside of the main hinged section of the bangle and evidence of old repairs to this area, probably including some sections of gold which have been let-in to repair creases/splits. Case is faded and dry and is missing the button to open at the front. Some damage to silk lining inside lid due to contact with the cameo.

Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother: two hand-signed Christmas cards, dated 1967 and 1969, each with embossed gilt crown to the cover and a photographic portrait to the interior, together with a further unsigned card, 1966, with a photograph of her disembarking from an aeroplane in Australia, with a hand-written envelope addressed to Mr R. Smith, Windsor Castle.Consigned by the family of Robert Smith, who was a Footman at Buckingham Palace before becoming a Steward at Windsor Castle, his career spanning from the late 1930s through to the mid-1970s. He travelled on many overseas tours with the Royal Family, accompanying King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada (1939) and South Africa (1947), as well as later tours and engagements with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Domestically, he accompanied the senior Royals on carriages and coaches during state events and official visits. It forms part of an extensive collection of personal Christmas cards and related ephemera being sold in this sale.
Diana Spencer: a hand-signed pencil portrait sketch on paper (by an amateur hand), dated 1996, 28.5 cm x 20 cm framed and glazed. The drawing had been done by a member of the vendor's family and sent to Diana, who signed it in black marker and returned it to him. The family later forwarded it to Sport & Star Autographs Ltd, who provided a certificate confirming that the signature was, in their opinion, authentic. The drawing was completed only around a year before Diana's death in 1997.Retained by the family of the late artist, and stored away from direct sunlight.Good clean condition

Oil on canvas. Canvas measures: 127 x 98 cm. The eldest son of Vicente López and brother of Luis, also a painter, he was born in Valencia on August 20, 1799. Like his brother, he entered the Academy of San Fernando in 1825, and soon obtained, thanks to his father, several palatial works, such as that of Queen María Isabel de Braganza as founder of the Royal Museum, undoubtedly her best-known work, signed in 1829 (Museo del Prado). He was the most faithful imitator of his father's style, sharing work and clientele with him, reaching a certain reputation in his time as a portrait painter, especially in the pastel technique.
