A large format 43cm x 32cm photograph album from the Boer War 1901. This album came from the estate of General French's groom, James Rainford. The album consists of large size photographs of Boer Prisoners of War taken by Ivie H Allan who was born in Surrey and went ot South Africa in 1890. He had a photographic studio in Graaff - Reinet in 1899 and took many of the photos in this album. Most of the photos are annotated with the names of the Boer's approx 70 in total. In addition there are over 20 loose private photos of British and Boer troops and a large portrait photo of Gen. Allenby.

WW2 British Winston Churchill commemorative brass desk ornament in the form of an upright open book standing upon a circular base. Size 12cm in height by 17cm in width. The left page has an portrait engraving of Churchill. The right page has an inscription of one of Churchill's speeches given in a secret session of Parliament in 1941 part of which reads "All the great struggles of history have been won by superior willpower wresting victory in the teeth of odds or upon the narrowest of margins". The engraving is picked out is black and red paint. The reverse has a crackle black paint finish to simulate a leather book binding.
