Attributed to Adam Buck (1759 - 1833), miniature watercolour portrait on paper of a seated gentleman, named verso as John William Norie 1772 - 1843, 19cm x 16cm, original carved gilt frame, inscribed verso - 'Copied in watercolour by Buck from a portrait by Williams'.N.B. John William Norie was a notable supplier of material to the marine trade, specialising in publishing and the sale of nautical and navigational charts - his clients included the British Admiralty and East India Company.
