English School/Portrait Miniature of a Gentleman/enamel, 4.5cm x 4cm/in enamel case decorated with a cypher and dated 1708/see illustration/Provenance: Ombersley Court Condition Report: Portrait miniature is in good condition. There are signs of residue of sellotape left of centre, which we believe should be possible to remove safely.
Circle of William Owen (1769-1825)/The Miss Ingrams/full length portrait of two young ladies dressed in white, one seated sketching a country house, the other standing beside her, in a wooded landscape with the sun setting over a town in the distance/oil on canvas 153cm x 129cm/Note: Milborough and Frances Elizabeth Ingram were daughters of the Rev James Ingram, rector of Burford, Salo Condition Report: The surface of the paint has quite a pronounced craquelure, especially to the upper right quadrant, and the black hair of the standing girl has bitumen damage. The surface has been cleaned at some time, but the painting is not relined and is in a good contemporary leaf moulded frame. With its minor faults, it is still ready to hang with no need of restoration.
Attributed to Peter Crosse (?-1724)/Portrait Miniature of Samuel Butler (1613-1680)/bust length, wearing a lace jabot/bodycolour on vellum, 8.5cm x 6.5cm/Note: Another version is in the Buccleuch Collection, erroneously attributed to Samuel Cooper/Provenance: Ombersley Court/see illustration Condition Report: The miniature is in very good condition, in a gilt frame that is a little chipped.
