Oskar Munzel signed 6 x 4 b/w portrait photo. (13 March 1899 – 1 January 1992) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmachtduring World War II and a General der Kampftruppen in the Bundeswehr who commanded several divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Oskar Munzel was captured by Allied troops in 1945 and was released in 1947. For 4 years he served as a military advisor in Egypt, and then he joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 and retired in 1962. Munzel then acted as the Chief Advisor of Ming-the-Gruppe(German Military Advisory Group) in Taiwan for the Republic of China Armed Forces before returning to Germany Good condition. Otto Maximilian Hitzfeld signed to reverse of 4 x 3 b/w portrait photo. (7 May 1898 – 6 December 1990) was a German officer during both World War I and World War II. He was awarded the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern) on 9 May 1945. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade, Oak Leaves and Swords, was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Good condition. A late 18th/early 19th century portrait silhouette of Lieutenant Francis Mytton (1763-1807), Son of Thomas Mytton of Shipton in the County of Salop of his Majesty's Regiment serving in at Gibraltar, oval, 8cm high *Francis Snell Mytton is recorded in Shropshire Archive documents, including a letter dated 1783 to his aunt Miss Eliz. Mytton of Shrewsbury (1739-1819), where he mentions the death of his sister, his hopes for lieutenancy and briefly his service in Gibraltar. Further research shows that he served under the 25th Regiment of Foot, who were based in Gibraltar in 1782 during which it was under attack by Spain. Note: Provenance of Linley Hall, Shropshire
