(1712-1800) and The Inoculation of Catherine The Great of Russia, covers missing, The Annals of Medical History, New Series, Vol. IV, Number 4, July, 1932, inscribed by the author--THE JOURNAL OF ELIZABETH, THIRD WIFE OF THE FIRST BARON DIMSDALE ON A JOURNEY TO RUSSIA IN THE YEAR 1781, copy typescript, 130 pp., followed by copy letters from Catherine the Great and others and various writings, etc., bound in modern navy calf gilt, a.e.g.--PORTRAIT PLATE of Baron Dimsdale, mounted, from the European Magazine, published 1802. Hermione Hammond, 1910 - 2005 Portrait of john randolph lucas Signed and dated 6/74 Oil on board 61x47cm.; 24x18.5in. Born in 1929, Lucas was a fellow and tutor at Merton College, Oxford until his retirement in 1996. He remains an emeritus member of the University Faculty of Philosophy and is a Fellow of the British Academy.
Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson, A.R.A., 1889-1946 Portrait of christine bonner Signed Pencil, charcoal and pastel 52x41.5cm.; 20.5x16.25in. Executed in 1924. Nevinson wrote in his biography, 'I was now doing a great many portraits....I painted Mrs Bonner, the famous beauty; and her Florentine perfection inspired me to do one of the best heads I have ever done' (C.R.W. Length 4.8cm. James Anthony Steel was reputedly Chief of the Indian Police Service

A James VI (of Scotland) ten shilling piece, struck on a full but slightly irregular flan, with an excellent portrait, overall GVF or better in places, together with a James VI (of Scotland) 1602 half thistle merk, struck on a regular flan with full clear legends, obverse VF reverse fair - legends good but thistle worn (2). Burns Coinage of Scotland only notes two examples of the first coin of that date (vol II page 379)

A pair of Minton majolica ‘Continents’ vases, circa 1870, each U-shaped body relief moulded with a male and female portrait bust, on the first vase representing Africa and America, on the second vase representing Europe and Asia, within oval panels alternating with ring handles against a turquoise ground decorated with laurel, raised on circular feet beneath Greek Key rims edged in ochre, pink glazed interiors, impressed MINTON with date code and shape numbers 1388 and 1389, height approx 34cm (faults and restoration)
