Trajan silver denarius, reverse:- Dacian captive seated left, Sear 3136var., GF, with a Mary silver groat, reverse reads:- VERITAS, Spink 2492, some edge loss and cracks, holed, Fair/GF, with a silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, mm. Castle 1569-1571 and dated 1571, Spink 2566, quite nice portrait, NVF/GF, these together with two base silver European pieces of 1649 and 1707, these were on a card which states 'Found behind the Skirting Boards at "The Wrestlus" [this not clear] Petty Cury' [5]
Elizabeth I silver sixpence, Third and Fourth Issue 1561-1577, mm. Coronet 1567-1570 and dated 1567, Spink 2562, light scuffs, lightly crinkled, GF/NVF with a ditto but a silver threepence of the Fifth Issue 1578-1582 mm. Greek Cross 1578-1579 and dated 1578, Spink 2573, light scuffs, portrait quite good, GF sold with an old card which states 'Found on the site of The "Coach and Horses" Petty Cury' top 'St.John's College, Cambridge' [2]

Attributed to Sir Thomas Lawrence PRA (1769-1830) Portrait of a gentleman, head and shoulders, believed to be the artist John Martin (1789-1854), wearing a black jacket and white cravat Pencil with coloured chalks, 18.5cm by 14cm John Martin first exhibited his famous ''Sadak, In search of the Waters of Oblivion'' at the RA in 1812 and it is possible that Martin would have come to Lawrence's attention at this time. By 1821 Sir Thomas Lawrence famously referred to the artist John Martin as ''The most popular artist of the day''. See illustration

A World War I Military Medal group of four to 2081 Cpl James Henry Amson Royal Engineers, comprising 1914-15 Star named 'Spr J. Amson', with MM named '492017 Cpl J. Amson R.E'., BWM, VM, and bronze death plaque, he died from gas exposure. Accompanied by two typed transcripts for being 'Awarded' and 'rewarded' the MM dated 28th September 1918. His actions were: 'On September 21st 1918 during our attack on the German trenches, near Ronssoy, the enemy put down an intense bombardment on the forward areas which completely broke up our telephone lines. This N.C.O. went along and repaired all forward cables and in one case where 1500 yds had been completely blown out, carried up and relaid new cable under an incessant bombardment of shells and gas and eventually established communication. The cables were continually breaking and he worked on these faults for over thirteen hours with splendid courage and determination.'
