Robert Loraine (1876 - 1935), actor, actor-manager and soldier, who introduced Man and Superman to Broadway in 1905. (7) Hotchkiss is a character in Shaw`s play Getting Married, 1908. HODGSON FAMILY. Eleven mid 19th c. daguerrotype portrait photographs (one damaged) of Sir Arthur Hodgson, his wife Eliza, and their children. With miniature watercolour of Eliza, and folded note by the subject "For dear Sir Arthur. The likeness of the girl he proposed to, and lately found among some papers. The most successful attempt of my girlhood. It could be photographed and coloured by a good artist." All cased, 2 of them with gilt Stamp of Freeman Brothers Sydney. (12) See illustration.
