An ivory and coquilla nut oval brooch, the centre carved with a floral cluster within a border of birds and snakes, a gold, coral and rose diamond set brooch in a marquise cluster design, a banded agate set brooch carved as the portrait of a lady, and a carved jade pendant formed as an elephant.
A porcelain Queen Caroline commemorative jug, circa 1821, each side moulded in relief with a bust portrait above an impressed inscription `Success to Queen Caroline` picked out in yellow, blue, brown and green within pink borders and beneath a moulded floral neck, height approx 134cm (crack to lower handle).
A Dutch Delft blue and white bowl, mid-18th Century, the centre and rim painted with Chinese flowers, diameter approx 30cm (cracked and chipped), together with a French faience plate, late 19th Century, painted with the bust portrait of a snuff taker beneath the inscription `La Bonne Prise` (repaired rim).

In-8° oblong : 12 estampes bordées d`un liseré de tissu bleu, +/- 15 x 24 cm, collées par les coins sur ff. de fin papier (qqs petits manques ou coups). Dans un album couvert de papier décoré (fort usagé et frotté). Est. : 300/ 400 € Extraction du kaolin et transport de cet argile provenant des montagnes, confection des pièces, mise au four, séchage au soleil, mise en caisse pour l`expédition. Avec le portrait en plein pied d`un mandarin. Les peintures ne sont pas collées en plein, ce qui permet au fragile papier moelle (i.e. le jujubier, le tong-tsao, arbrisseau avec lequel on fabrique un papier délicat, appelé papier moelle de sureau et erronément "papier de riz") de limiter les cassures. ¶ Making of the China ware in 11 paintings plus one full portrait of a mandarin.

H.M.- [Gustave Wappers et son épouse (?)] : 2 dessins. "Anvers, 3 [et 8] mar. 1834". Dessins originaux, crayon noir, 27 x 20 cm à vue, monogrammés "H.M." avec mention de date et lieu en bas à dr. au crayon noir, mention à la plume d`une autre main "Gustaf Wappers" en bas à g. sous le portrait de l`homme. Sous vitres, passe-partout et cadres de bois doré. Est. : 200/ 250 € Gustave Wappers (Anvers 1803-1874) fut le peintre officiel du roi Léopold Ier mais il travailla aussi pour son beau-père le roi Louis-Philippe de France. Il se peut que l`homme du portrait soit bien Wappers car sur une photo le représentant âgé, il existe une certaine ressemblance avec l`arcade sourcilière et le nez à l`arête bien dessinée. ● Excellente réalisation de l`auteur de ces dessins, malheureusement non identifié. Contemporary binding : threequarter red tinted vellum, marbled paper boards, gilt decorated ribbed spine (us., rubbed, small lacks...). Est. : 250/ 300 € First edition illustrated with the portrait of Zabaglia (1664-1750), a great ingeneer who wasn`t able to read or to write, and 27 (of 54) steel-engravings (1 folding). They figure Zabaglia`s helps for the construction of buildings on the basis of Saint Pieter`s edification in Rome where he worked and showed up his creativity by inventing new machines and sort of scalffodings. Some of them also represent technics for the obelsik transport in Vatican. All of them are described in Latin and in Italian. no. Cicognara 968; no. Berlin Kat. 2755; no. non in Fowler. ▲ Provenance : Congregation of the Oblats of the Virgin Mary in Marseille (stamp). ¶ Prima edizione illustrata dal ritratto del autore e di 27 (su 54) incisione in rame (una ripiegata), con descrizione in Latino e Italiano. Mezza pergamena tinta in rosso con angoli dell`epoca (incompleto, usato, slegato, sfregata...). ¶ Édition originale illustrée du portrait de l`auteur et de 27 (sur 54) pl. figurant ses créations pour aider à la construction d`édifices et le transport de l`obélisque du Vatican (avec descriptions en latin et italien).
