A Late 19th Century Russian Cameo and Diamond Brooch, by Edward Schramm, circa 1880, the oval shell cameo plaque to the centre depicting a portrait of the Goddess Diana, within a yellow scrolled foliate mount, with a crown motif surmount formed of old cut diamonds in claw and collect settings, and a single old cut diamond similarly set to the base, total estimated diamond weight 2.60 carat approximately, measures 6.0cm by 4.2cm, cased by L SaefftigenEdward Wilhelm Schramm was a well-known workmaster to houses such as Fabergé and Bolin.Condition report: There is a chip to the girdle of the largest diamond in the crown and evidence of lead solder repairs. It fastens with a pin and C-hook catch. The pin is twice struck with 'ES' the workmasters initials (Edward Schramm) and also with the '56' standard mark and in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Box by L Saefftigen, the St Petersburg goldsmith Leopold Carlovich Saefftigen firm of jewellers was located close to Fabergé at no.16 Morskaya. Gross weight 23.3 grams. CR made 30.09.21.

There is also further relatively minor and sporadic areas of infilling to old cracquelure etc. Within the shadow, left-hand side edge and across the gate up to the horse. In addition to other small areas within the foreground in the main. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish, various sized craquelure throughout. Minimal amount of rubbings to parts of outer edges.

Circle of Sir Henry Raeburn RSA FRSE (1756-1823)Portrait of a lady, said to be a member of the Heygate family, of Southend, Essex, three-quarter length seated at a draped table, wearing a white dress and yellow bonnet decorated with a ribbonOil on canvas, 90cm by 70cmFootnote: The sitter is said to be a member of the Heygate family, of Southend, Essex. Condition report: In fully restored condition. Fairly stiffly relined, cleaned, and revarnished. The background shows a fairly comprehensive course of strengthening and overpainting. Finer areas of retouching and restrengthening are evident in the shadows and definition for the ribbon tied to the lady's bonnet. Lightly tear/damage with a prominent patch of overpainting below and centre of the lady's lefthand arm which is approximately 6 by 4 cm and is visible by eye. Some minor rubbings/abrasions to outer edges. Some general flattening to impasto of paint as a result of the restoration process. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Minor superficial slightly diagonal surface scuff towards lower right-hand corner approximately 2 cm in length. Otherwise in a stable state of preservation.
Circle of Jonathan Richardson (1667-1745)Portrait of a lady, half length, wearing a blue satin dress, with white chemise, in a feigned ovalOil on canvas, 71.5cm by 59.5cmCondition report: In broadly country house condition- relined, covered in a thick layer of dirt discoloured varnish and bloom. Pronounced essentially fine cracquelure which is lifting and flaking in areas including around the ladies hair and ear, left-hand side neck, lower shoulder, left-hand side sleeve, lower torso, right-hand side sleeve and more minor flakes elsewhere with some areas of a precarious nature. The paint is signed J.Wallaston Pinx 1736. Under UV the majority of the background has been overpainted and strengthened, finer wisps and detailing of the lady's hair have also been strengthened in addition to darker pigments between the lips and the odd fine area around the eyes and eye brows, nostrils etc. Shadows and definitions within the folds of her attire also show signs of general strengthening.

Pronounced varying sized cracquelure which is exaggerated by deteriorated varnish. There are also areas where cracquelure is flaking and paint is coming away most notably effectively in line with left-hand side upright stretcher and evident rudimentary infilling to areas of flaked paint, general losses along the lower edge, and rubbing abrasions. Less significant losses to other edges. Stretcher shadow, numerous surface scuffs, scratches and abrasions. Mostly contained to the upper third. Various consistent strengthening, overpainting throughout background and folds and definition of the gentleman's cloak, outline of the face, and parts of the hair. The face and flesh remains in better seemingly more original order with possibly only minimal restoration, surface generally somewhat flattened from restoration process etc.

Covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. General rubbing and abrasions to edges and odd minor and isolated patch of fine flaking i.e background towards upper left hand corner, in addition to on her left hand breast. Surface slightly flattend and paint is thin in places from historical restoration. There has been some general strenghtening through the background in addition to some of the shadows and definition within her costume and attire under the curl of hair right hand side, etc.The face and flesh areas seem broadly less affected. The face and flesh tones generally less affacted with small area of flaked paint to her left hand cheek in addition to the damage, otherwise in broadly country house condition consistant with age including the odd relatively minor surface scuff, abrasions, etc.

Dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence to surface. Subtle stretcher shadow shows signs of some restoration or intervention. Background broadly strengthened/overpainted. General retouching and strengthening to the shadow and darker tones immediately right of the gentleman collar which extends to include strengthening to the shadows and outline of his left-hand side face and lower half of his left-hand side wig. Further comprehensive overpainting to the area between the fur-trimmed edges of his robe further general strengthened to the folds of his attire, lower right-hand side. More minor and delicate retouching and infilling within the white areas of his attire, mostly right-hand side. Odd delicate retouch to parts of the face. Retouching to stretcher shadow has deteriorated and is visible by eye. Varnish has chalky/opaque quality along the top edge. Surface slightly flattened from reline and restoration process, varying sized cracquelure throughout etc

Evidence of likely two phases of restoration, consistent retouching overpainting and strengthening broadly throughout with some additional finer elements to detailing within the armour and bow tie. Relined, cleaned and revarnished. Some surface dirt, discolouration and deterioration to varnish in places, stretcher shadow, fine evident cracquelure which is fairly pronounced in places and maybe liable to lift and peal. Tiny white coloured flecks across the surface, mostly contained to background left and background right centre. Odd minor surface scuff, abrasion, some of the retouching and restoration has deteriorated and is evident by eye etc.
