A Meissen group of Czarina Elizabeth on horseback circa 1974 after the model by J.J. Kandler holding a baton in her right hand and wearing the Order of the Polish White Eagle and the grand cross of the Order of St. Andrew attended by a servant with feathered turban blue jacket and yellow tunic the base encrusted with leaves and flowers crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue incised model number 73108 impressed 113 and date code 23.5cm. 9.25in. lower half of baton broken off lower half of staff in servant's right hand broken off Modelled by Kandler around 1743 after a portrait by Georg Christoph Grooth (1716-49) of the same year; see U.Pietsch (ed.) Meissen for the Czars cat.no.47 for the painting and cat.no.46 for the 18th century group in the State Art Collections in Dresden.
A pair of Sevres-style jewelled cups and saucers circa 1860 one with five portrait medallions of famous ladies from French history each medallion titled at the base of the cup the saucer with five medallions with their monograms in floral garlands the other with three portrait medallions of famous ladies at the court of Louis XIV and the saucer set with a cherub playing with flowers double interlacing L's and date marks on each piece some wear to the enamels and the jewelled decoration (4)
A pair of Copeland & Garrett octagonal blue and white earthenware garden seats circa 1840 each transfer-printed with a titled view Thun from the Byron Views Series printed and impressed marks 48cm. 19in. one with two small glaze chips to rim (2) Thun is the name for both a town and lake in Switzerland. The views of various European countries are based on engravings in Finden's Landscape and Portrait Illustrations to the Life and Works of Lord Byron (1832-34).
