Note: Lady Aberdare was wife of Lord Aberdare (Henry Austin Bruce Aberdare 1815-1895), Barrister and Liberal politician, Home Secretary 1868-1873, Lord President of the council 1873/1874. His wealth arose from the discovery of coal on the family estates at Dufferin and Aberdare. Chairman of the Royal Niger Company 1882-1886. Promoted university education in Wales. (1)
