Joseph Kostka (1846-1927) - Oil painting - Portrait bust of a white stallion, signed and dated 1867, canvas 30ins x 22ins, in gilt frameCondition Report - There is some scattered craquelure to the surface of the paint but no obvious lifting. The work generally appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. There is another identical version of this on the market or recently sold in Scandinavia, but this work is an original oil. It has been in the same family for a number of decades.
18th Century English School - Oil painting - Half length portrait of a woman wearing a pearl necklace, relined canvas 40ins x 32ins, in gilt moulded frameCondition Report - The canvas has been relined. There appears to be some restoration to her natural right forearm and hand, her upper chest just below the pearl necklace and also to both right and left sides of her face and forehead. Additionally there appears to be some light areas of restoration to her hair on her right, and some scattered areas of restoration to the background, particularly close to the right hand side of the frame, in line with her wrist and up to the upper right corner. Also some small areas above her head and to the right of her head. There is some light scattered craqueleur to the paint, but no obvious sign of lifting. Two small flakes of paint missing just above the sitters head. The later frame is in reasonably good condition with just a few small scattered areas of damage to jesso.
19th Century British School - Oil painting - Portrait of seated dog with sleeping boy, relined canvas 36ins x 30ins, in gilt moulded frameCondition Report - This work has been relined. There are some areas of scattered restoration, including - close to the left edge and upper left corner in the sky, the chest of the dog just above the animals natural left front leg, the boys hand and a small area in front of the dogs front paws. There is additionally a small scratch/area of paint loss in line with the dogs muzzle to the left of the animal. Otherwise, this work generally appears to be in reasonably good condition.
Daniel Farson (1927-1997) - Gelatin silver print - Portrait of Gaston Berlemont, signed and dedicated in ink to mount, 10ins x 8ins, a photograph of Daniel Farson standing outside The French House public house, Soho, 7.5ins x 9.5ins, and a folio with marbled boards, containing the names and ink autographs of those sending congratulations to Gaston Berlemont on his 70th birthday, dated April 26th-27th, 1984Provenance: From The French House, Soho. The pub, always popular with artists and writers, was formerly run by Victor Berlemont, and later by his son Gaston, born in the pub in 1914. Gaston retired in 1989.

It appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.
Frederick (Fred) William Elwell RA (British 1870-1958): 'Lt. Col. Norman R Grimston DSO', half length portrait with the family seat Grimston Garth in the background, oil on canvas signed and dated 1948, titled and inscribed verso 90cm x 70cmNotes: Grimston was held, as part of the manor of Roos, from the mid-12th century by the Grimston family. The manor of Garton with Grimston passed down to Thomas Grimstonof Kilnwick-on-the-Wolds in 1780 who built the present Grimston Garth in 1781-6 as a summer residence. The estate descended in the family to Thomas�s grandson Marmaduke Grimston (1826-1879) the last of the male line. It was through his daughter Rose, wife of George Hobart, that it passed to their daughter Armatrude Rose Sophia Effie Bertie, Lady Waechter in 1927. Lady Waechter, who took the additional name de Grimston, gave the estate to her cousin Norman Grimston in 1946, the last family incumbent who sold the house in 1949Provenance: East Yorkshire private collection purchased Dee Atkinson and Harrison 16th July 1995 Lot 554
